Italy has frozen €800M in Russian oligarch assets.

Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi has said that Ukraine is defending not only its security but also European security, after the invasion of Russian troops. According to him, Italy would not look the other way at the “barbarism” of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The Italian Prime Minister also praised the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people against the cruelty of Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to Draghi, Italy has already frozen assets worth more than €800M belonging to Russian oligarchs, and the country will send military and other aid to Ukraine. The Prime Minister added that Rome wants to see Kyiv in the European Union.
