Issues related to the interception of missiles over Ukraine may be discussed next week at the NATO ministerial meeting,

the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski, said.

“This discussion is about where the right to self-defense begins and where it ends. Do we have the right to shoot down a missile only after it is already over our territory? Fragments of such a missile can cause damage or injure or kill someone,” Sikorski said.

At the same time, he noted that “one can have an honest difference of opinion” on this Ukrainian request.

“This is a matter of agreement and discussion between our allies. We have a new NATO Secretary General. Next week, there will be another NATO meeting at the ministerial level. Perhaps this issue will be on the agenda of negotiations,” added Sikorski.

He previously said that Ukraine’s neighboring countries have a “duty” to shoot down Russian missiles approaching their airspace, even if NATO opposes such action.

However, Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski is categorically against the idea of ​​shooting down Russian missiles over Ukraine.
