In the seven full months of this year, cargo transshipment in Ukrainian ports almost reached 2023’s total amount.
Ukrainian seaports processed 59.9 million tons of cargo in January-July, almost equaling the total figure for last year (approximately 62 million tons). During this time, the ports increased cargo turnover by 74.1% compared to the corresponding period in 2023. In July, the ports increased cargo handling by 120% compared to July last year – up to seven million tons.
Transshipment of export agricultural goods amounted to 4.2 million tons (60%). Last month, agricultural goods were exported to 46 countries.
We note that January-July 2024’s result, achieved by six Ukrainian ports, is 22%, or 16.9 million tons, inferior to the indicator from the corresponding period in the pre-war year of 2021 when cargo transshipment took place in 13 ports.
During the 11 months of the Ukrainian Maritime Corridor’s operation, the Pivdenny, Odesa, and Chornomorsk seaports exceeded 60 million tons of cargo turnover.
