In the first half of the year, state-owned Ukrgasbank financed energy projects worth ₴5.5B and has become a leader in community lending.


From January to June 2025, Ukrgasbank financed over 90 energy projects for small, medium, and corporate businesses, totaling nearly ₴5.5B ($130M). The main areas of support included the construction of solar and wind power plants, the implementation of gas-piston and cogeneration plants, the modernization of heating networks, and the installation of generators and energy storage systems.
Since June 2024, the bank has finalized loan agreements in sustainable energy and energy independence totaling ₴7.25B. According to the NBU, this has made the bank a market leader with over 30% of total energy lending volume. As a result of these projects, the total installed capacity of new generation increased by 225 MW in 2025 and by 344 MW since June 2024.
The bank also signed two strategic agreements with the EBRD and EIB to strengthen energy sustainability for businesses and communities. Additionally, Ukrgasbank became the leading state-owned bank in community lending this year, holding a 65.8% share.
