In Saudi Arabia, Ukraine will propose a partial ceasefire to encourage the US to resume providing assistance.

During bilateral talks in Saudi Arabia, Ukraine will seek to convince the US to restore military and intelligence support. Kyiv plans to present initiatives that, according to its assessments, will ease negotiations with Washington, particularly the possibility of a partial ceasefire addressing long-range strikes and hostilities in the Black Sea. However, Ukraine rules out a ceasefire on land, as this would enable Russia to rebuild its forces and prepare for a new offensive.
The Ukrainian parliament states that the main goal of the meeting between the Ukrainian and American delegations is to secure an agreement guaranteeing continued support from the US. Political analysts believe Kyiv intends to demonstrate its willingness to negotiate with Moscow to Washington, as normalizing relations with the US is currently a priority.
According to Reuters, American officials in Saudi Arabia intend to evaluate Kyiv’s readiness for potential concessions to Moscow that may be required to bring an end to the war. Furthermore, US officials will watch how serious Ukraine is about mending relations with the Trump administration following the recent dispute in the Oval Office.
