In a shock move, the head of Ukraine’s central bank unexpectedly resigned last night, blamingsystematic political pressure” that “makes it impossible for me, as the Chairman, to effectively manage the National Bank.” Today, a Rada committee is expected to review the resignation by Yakiv Smoliy. If accepted it would go to a full Rada vote tomorrow.
