In 2023, Nestlé invested UAH 200M in Ukrainian factories.
This year, Nestlé Ukraine has invested about UAH 200M ($5.46M) in its factories, focusing on worker safety in addition to the previously announced $45M invested in constructing a new factory in the Volyn region.
According to the company, during the first half of the year they invested in the purchase and arrangement of shelters at production sites, acquisition of new equipment and improvement of production processes, modernization of premises, and technological solutions for reducing their carbon footprint.
In the second half of 2023, the company intends to invest a commensurate amount in developing its production sites. Last year, investment totaled $35M.
Nestlé CEO Alessandro Zanelli said, “(That) despite the war the company managed to maintain double-digit sales growth rates. We also continue to invest in our production and are building a new fourth factory in Ukraine.”
