IFC and Ukrsibbank will boost medium-sized and larger corporations in Ukraine.

The IFC and Ukrsibbank, whose shareholders include BNP Paribas Group and the EBRD, have announced the launch of a new €66M Risk Sharing Facility (RSF) to support medium- and large-sized enterprises in Ukraine. This initiative aims to provide critically needed financing to mid-cap companies operating in sectors vital to the economy, including agribusiness, manufacturing, trade, and logistics. The program is designed to help businesses sustain their operations, preserve jobs, and strengthen the country’s energy security.

Risk sharing facilities allow the IFC’s partner financial institutions to take on a portion of the credit risk on portfolios of eligible loans and other assets, thereby supporting lending, especially in volatile markets. Under the agreement’s terms, the IFC will cover 50% of the credit risk – up to €33M. The project has also received backing from the governments of France and the UK. A separate aspect of the program – approximately 20% of the RSF portfolio – will be allocated to financing small projects focused on renewable energy and energy efficiency.
