Monday, September 9, 2024

Russia is preparing for continued missile and drone attacks on Ukraine’s energyinfrastructure, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal said. At the same time, Ukraine is preparing for the new heating season:

- The EBRD is considering granting a €50M loan to Kyivteploenergo for critical needs in heat supply systems. Another €5M will be provided by the EBRD’s Special Crisis Response Fund as a grant. The project review is scheduled for September 25.
- Ukraine is discussing the expansion of electricity imports from 1.7 to 2.2 GW with the EU.
- Protective structures at Ukrenergo facilities are more than 85% ready, and housing and utility facilities are 82% ready for the heating season.
