Healey: The longer Ukraine holds the Kursk territories, the weaker Putin becomes.
UK Secretary of State for Defense, John Healey, said, “Ukrainians need to strengthen their front line in the east, and they will look to hold the territory in Kursk. The longer they hold Kursk, the weaker Putin becomes. The longer they hold Kursk, the better defended Ukraine will be”. Thus, Britain is increasing its support for Kyiv “because it’s not only Ukraine’s struggle but also our struggle.”
Herbert McMaster, a former national security adviser in Donald Trump’s administration, said at the Future Security Forum that the United States should clearly define its goals for Ukraine and give it the means to defend and reclaim its territories. In his opinion, the current US policy regarding the war in Ukraine lacks confidence, and the West should not be afraid of Russia.
“Stop this de-escalation mantra and manage the temperature of escalation,” McMaster stressed.
The former commander-in-chief of NATO’s combined armed forces in Europe, Admiral James Stavridis, believes that Ukraine will retain control over the current front line and the Kursk territory, creating conditions for negotiations with Moscow based on the Korean scenario.
