Germany sends Leopard tanks and an IRIS-T air defense system to Ukraine, and the US officially announces the next military aid package.
Germany handed over a new batch of military aid to Ukraine, which includes artillery shells, Leopard 1 AP tanks, machine guns, drones, rifles, and ammunition. Ukraine received: 10 Leopard 1 A5 tanks, 20 machine guns, 8,500 155 mm shells, 20 Vector and 34 RQ-35 Heidrun reconnaissance drones, a Beaver bridge-laying tank, Dachs and Bergepanzer 2 armored vehicles, four WiSENT 1 anti-mine tanks, 16 Zetros tankers, 540 MK 556 assault rifles, 80 HLR 338 precision rifles, 111 CR 308 rifles, and 1.8 million rounds of ammunition.
Also, the transfer of three HIMARS installations is being prepared. Additionally, the German government officially confirmed the transfer of another IRIS-T air defense system to Ukraine.
At the same time, the US officially announced a $275M aid package, including HIMARS ammunition, 155-mm and 105-mm artillery shells, 60-mm mortar mines, TOW missiles, Javelin and AT-4 complexes, and aviation ammunition.
