Germany and Kazakhstan discuss ways to achieve peace in Ukraine.
The President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, during a meeting with Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz on September 16 in Astana, stated: “The possibility of achieving peace still exists. It is necessary to carefully consider all the peace initiatives of various states, stop hostilities, and then discuss territorial issues. In our opinion, the peace plan of China and Brazil deserves support.”
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz believes that achieving peace will be possible if Russia recognizes that Ukraine is “not a vassal state.” According to Scholz, because of his imperialist dreams, Putin is dooming hundreds of thousands of Russian soldiers to death and serious injuries, as well as destroying Russia’s economic ties with many countries of the world.
“Putin is depriving his country of its future,” Scholz stressed.
He also noted that Germany will continue to provide military aid to Ukraine to resist Russian aggression, but at the same time, his position on supplying long-range Taurus missiles to Kyiv has not changed.
