G7 and EU ambassadors expect tough anti-corruption decisions from Ukraine.
The G7 and the EU ambassadors expect Ukraine to resume electronic declarations and approve the State Anti-Corruption Program. The approval of the program will help Ukraine save taxpayers up to UAH 200B annually and overcome corruption in the areas most affected by it. This will ensure transparency in future reconstruction processes. In addition, the program is aimed at further strengthening anti-corruption institutions in Ukraine and implementing EU anti-corruption standards in key areas of public life and the economy. This is another crucial step toward Ukraine’s integration into the EU and NATO, noted the National Agency on Corruption Prevention. The resumption of declaration and reporting by political parties are effective tools not only for preventing corruption but also for detecting evidence of illegal enrichment and other corruption offenses. This is especially relevant for the accountability of Ukrainian officials in the use of aid provided by Ukraine’s partners.
