Furniture exports from Ukraine increased by 15.5% – this positive trend will continue this year.

Ukrainian furniture manufacturers exported products worth $909M in 2024, which is 15.5% more than in 2023, the industry association reported. The woodworking and furniture industries are among the top 10 commodity export groups with a share of 5.7%.
Experts are confident that furniture export growth dynamics will continue this year, and the total may reach over $1B. The forecast is explained by global market trends, which have returned to growth (in European countries from 8% to 10% per year). Moreover, IKEA is returning to Ukraine to purchase a wide assortment of furniture.
At the same time, the number of Ukrainian exports to large companies is increasing. This applies to both small and medium-sized businesses, which are forced to export because the domestic market has shrunk significantly. Before the war, the domestic market capacity was estimated at $1-1.2B, and currently is about $500-600M. Grant support from the state as well as international donors has helped furniture manufacturers optimize their costs, maintain a competitive price level, and modernize their facilities.
