France is considering sending special forces to Ukraine to create a “strategic dilemma” for Russia.
The French authorities are considering allowing their special forces and military units to cross Ukraine’s border. This will enable Russia to face a “strategic dilemma.” There is an assumption that the presence of French units will help protect some Ukrainian territories from Russian attacks.
Currently, the French authorities deny the presence of their military in Ukraine. Although, since the beginning of the invasion, there have been government figures in the country associated with Western secret services, often with military status, in particular, undercover agents.
It should be noted that the French Ministry of Defense published a list of military equipment that had been sent to Ukraine from the beginning of the war. It includes about 50 items, among them 30 Caesar artillery installations, 250 VAB armored vehicles, 38 AMX10 armored vehicles, more than a million cartridges, and 160 reconnaissance drones. In total, France has sent military equipment worth more than €2.6B and contributed €1.2B to the European Peace Fund.
