Finland’s President suggests setting a deadline for a ceasefire in Ukraine, stating that the US is losing patience with Russia.

During a meeting with Donald Trump, Alexander Stubb emphasized the importance of establishing a clear deadline for achieving peace, proposing April 20 as the optimal date for this action, particularly because that date will mark three months of Trump’s presidency.
Simultaneously, Stubb noted that if Moscow refuses to agree to a ceasefire or breaks it, strong sanctions will need to be imposed, which are also being threatened by the US. Previously, the White House indicated its intention to secure a complete ceasefire in Ukraine by April 20.
However, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio believes it is impossible to guarantee a specific date for peace in Ukraine, asserting that the outcome primarily depends on Russia and Ukraine, as well as European nations, whose anti-Russian sanctions “must be considered in any final agreement.”
Additionally, after his meeting with Trump Stubb came away with the impression that the US’s patience with Russia is dwindling.
