Famous international brands are slowly but steadily returning to Ukraine.

The Danish company JYSK and the multi-brand company Argo were among the first to adapt to the new wartime realities of operating in Ukraine when they opened stores as early as March 2022. In April, the Polish retailer LPP resumed operations.

In May, the French chain of sports stores Decathlon attempted to resume work, but at the end of June, after a rocket attack on the Amstor shopping center in Kremenchuk, the company suspended work in Kyiv due to security threats. Decathlon stores reopened in October.

Adidas sports brand stores opened in Zhytomyr, Lviv, and Uzhgorod in July and Kyiv in August.

In September 2022, McDonald’s fast-food restaurants began to resume work. As of the spring of this year, 101 out of 117 restaurants were operating in Ukraine, and 10 new stores were opened.

Swedish retailer H&M resumed its operations in Ukraine in November 2023. In April, the stores of the Spanish fashion group Inditex (ZARA and ZARA HOME) opened in Kyiv, Lviv, Vinnytsia, and Cherkasy.

The Swedish IKEA brand is also preparing to return to the Ukrainian market.
