Exports through the Ukrainian Sea corridor have become easier with the participation of more insurance companies.
The export of Ukrainian grain through the Black Sea has been simplified by the increasing number of insurance companies operating in this market, said Oleg Kiper, the head of the Odesa Regional State Administration. According to him, the largest volume of grain exports should go by sea because the western borders cannot cope with the volume that Ukraine produces.
In November, the British government and a pool of British insurance companies created a special $50M insurance fund for ships passing through the sea corridor.
In October the volume of cargo flow exceeded one million tons, and according to December’s results, the export volume reached 6.8 million tons, which exceeded the largest monthly indicator achieved by the grain corridor by 2.5 million tons (October 2022).
