Europe’s largest investor in sustainable energy has launched a hub in Ukraine to support startups.

The European organization InnoEnergy has opened an official representative office in Ukraine, InnoEnergy Hub Ukraine. This will enable Ukrainian energy startups to connect with the EU innovation ecosystem and speed access to expertise, investment, technologies, and pilot projects. The hub’s opening is a strategic move to expand InnoEnergy’s presence in Eastern Europe.

Established with support from the EU, InnoEnergy has been the biggest energy investor in Europe for four straight years. By 2025, it had supported over 500 innovative companies and helped attract more than €8B in external investments for its portfolio startups. Notable examples of these companies include European enterprises Northvolt, Skeleton Technologies, and Tibber.

Ukrainian startups, such as Beholder – which is developing neural networks for use in geological exploration – have also benefited. Thanks to cooperation with the InnoEnergy fund, Beholder secured $940,000 in investment to scale its product.

The hub’s aim is to make Ukraine not just a reconstruction platform but a fully integrated player in the European energy market.
