Europe plans to purchase US weapons for Ukraine.

European leaders are urgently seeking ways to maintain their support for Ukraine amid US President Trump’s increasingly apparent withdrawal of support for Kyiv. The US is not approving new military aid packages for Ukraine and is also refusing to intensify sanctions pressure on Russia, which could compel Putin to cease fire. Meanwhile, the Kremlin is preparing for a summer offensive.
Facing a shortage in their own weapons stocks and limited production capacity, European countries are considering the option of buying American weapons, particularly Patriot batteries, which could then be transferred to Ukraine. This strategy will not only deter the Russian offensive but also strengthen Kyiv’s position in negotiations.
At the same time, the Ukrainian Minister of Finance has suggested that European partners take on part of the financing for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and integrate the Ukrainian military into the EU defense system. He believes this will, on one hand, help Ukraine maintain its financial stability and on the other hand, protect European countries from potential Russian aggression.
