Europe is prepared to get through the winter without Russian gas.

This winter, Europe will be able to buy almost 40% more liquefied natural gas (LNG) than last year. These supplies will be enough to compensate for the complete shutdown of Russian gas pipelines that began October 1, 2022. According to the Bloomberg, the EU’s operating scenario assumes that with weather conditions corresponding to the average of the last ten years and the absence of gas supplies from the Russian Federation, Europe will buy 40 million tons of LNG this winter and additional amounts in the summer of 2023 to replenish reserves. In this way, the EU will have enough fuel for electricity production for this winter.
