Europe has made progress on €40B in military aid for Ukraine.

EU member states have made strides toward a new military aid package for Ukraine worth up to €40B, just days before a leaders’ summit later this week. Following a meeting of foreign ministers from the European allies on Monday, the EU’s chief diplomat, Kaja Kallas, stated that there was “broad political support” for the initiative and discussions over the details were underway.
EU members have been negotiating a package amounting to at least €20B in supplies since last month. The proposal aims to deliver two million rounds of artillery ammunition this year, in addition to air defense systems, long range precision strike missiles, drones, and other weaponry.
This initiative is viewed as a crucial pathway to providing Kyiv with essential military supplies this year as it attempts to negotiate a peace deal with Russia that is being brokered by the US. The plan is open to both in-kind and cash contributions from a coalition of willing member states, with each being encouraged to contribute based on the size of their respective economies.
According to Bloomberg, most member states are in favor of moving forward with an agreement.
