Energy companies were obliged to pay debts to the owners of domestic SPPs in Ukraine.
The National Commission for Regulation of the Energy Market obliged state company Ukrenergo to pay their debts to the owners of domestic solar power plants. In particular, the commission canceled the resolution that allowed electricity suppliers to pay for only a portion of electricity from domestic SPPs during the war. The regulator explained its decision by citing the electricity shortage in Ukraine and the need to use all types of generation available in the power system. According to government officials, it is necessary to create favorable conditions for power system development quickly. The first stage on this path is the payment of debts and creating conditions for private household generation. Solar power plant owners will receive their money by the 25th of each month (starting in March) for the same month from the previous year.
