Electric car imports into Ukraine increased by 37%.

In 2021, almost 1 million cars were imported to Ukraine. This is 58% more than the previous year: 944,100 cars against 598,984. The increase also affected the number of electric cars imported to Ukraine – more than 10,000 in total. This is 37% more than in 2020. However, despite a significant increase in the number of electric cars, the share of electric vehicles in total car imports in Ukraine remains at 1%. The most popular electric cars imported were the Nissan Leaf, Tesla 3, and Chevy Bolt reported opendatabot. It is noted that the main obstacle to the active growth of the electric car market in Ukraine is still the low level of service infrastructure and low number of high-speed charging stations.
