Ukrainian politicians spend far too much time and energy discussing Nord Stream-2. The threat and damages both to the country and economy and so on. As politicians, they need to realize the fact that nobody will stop Nord Stream-2 from opening and starting pumping gas to Europe. The project investors had this intention, and nothing will stop the completion of the € 9.5 bln pipeline. Ukraine needs to devote more resources and political will to become energy independent and look forward to a future without crony capitalism. This will only be achieved by attracting external investors in the energy sector, in renewable projects, and ensuring that the rule of law protects the assets and their operations.
