Yesterday’s decision of the German court concerning Nord Stream 2 might not actually scupper this controversial scheme, but it will undoubtedly delay it and generate more discussion within the EU. It buys time for Kyiv to step up its arguments against the project and should strengthen President Zelenskiy’s hand when he meets with US President Joe Biden in Washington on August 31.
