The EU and Ukraine are both facing challenges regarding the current energy crisis. What are the lessons that can be learned from this crisis? We cannot depend on one source of energy, let alone one supplier. The current situation has illustrated that the decision to start closing coal mines in Ukraine was too soon? Maybe we need to build more gas storage facilities and start providing more storage services? Overall, the country needs to attract more investors into the energy sector, and ensure that the rule of law and protection of investor rights is respected by the courts.
