reports the State Statistics Service. With only 132,600 births recorded, the ratio of deaths to births is 2.64 to 1. The Service estimates that Ukraine’s population is 41.4 million people. However in January 2020, then-Cabinet Minister Dmytro Dubilet announced that an ‘electronic census’ indicated that the population was 37.2 million.
