DTEK has secured a record loan for the construction of one of the largest energy storage complexes in Eastern Europe.

DTEK has reached an agreement with a consortium of Ukrainian banks led by Oschadbank for this unprecedented financing aimed at modern energy storage systems in Ukraine. Three Ukrainian banks – Oschadbank, FUIB, and Ukrgasbank – will contribute approximately ₴3B (€67M) to fund the construction of this large-scale energy storage facility. This marks DTEK’s largest domestic loan, focused on developing new energy infrastructure.
The loan agreement encompasses the construction of five electricity storage facilities with a total capacity of 180 MW. In total, six energy storage facilities with a capacity of 200 MW are planned for construction across various regions of the country, with the DTEK supplying the remaining investment. The agreement remains valid until September 25 2030.
The project is anticipated to provide simultaneous electricity supply to 600,000 Ukrainian households. Construction of the storage facilities is expected to be completed in 2025.
