The Donetsk region is implementing a long-term environmental program that will allow 90% of solid waste to be sorted and recycled in less than ten years, announced the Director of the Department of Ecology, Serhiy Natrus. The pilot sorting project in Bakhmut is sorting up to 60,000 tons of waste per year and removing plastic, glass, metal, and other materials. In the future, such stations will appear throughout the region, and no more than 10 percent of household waste will fall into four regional landfills, “said Serhiy Natrus.
