Die Ukraine geht schnell von Bargeld auf Karten über, berichtet die Nationalbank der Ukraine. Im letzten Jahr stieg die Zahl der Kartenoperationen um 29% auf 5 Mrd. und das Volumen um 24% auf den Griwna-Gegenwert von 146 Mrd. Dollar. Beim Umstieg von Geldautomaten- auf Zahlungskarten haben die Ukrainer 42 Mio. Karten benutzt, um Waren und Dienstleistungen im Wert von 74 Mrd. Dollar zu bezahlen. Zum Vergleich: Das offizielle BIP der Ukraine betrug im vergangenen Jahr 150 Mrd. Dollar.
