Despite the war, Rivne farmers are building new farms and processing plants.
According to Igor Tymoshenko, the deputy head of the Regional State Administration, despite the second challenging year in wartime conditions, agriculture in the Rivne region is developing, and farmers are showing extraordinary resilience.
Farmers in the Rivne region are building an 11,000-head pig complex, a cattle farm for 1,000 animals. Additionally, they are creating processing plants to refine oil and process industrial hemp, building a workshop to process soybean seeds, and a frozen storage for organic berries. In addition, several enterprises are expanding their grain storage facilities.
As Rivne Director of the Department of Agro-Industrial Development Nadiya Perekhodko reported, among the leading agrarian results of 2023: an 80% increase in buckwheat production, soybean production by 30%, and production of all types of animal husbandry products increased. As well, meat production increased by 25% and milk production by 13%.
