Despite the war, Poland has recorded a sharp jump in exports to Ukraine in recent years.

In Poland, a significant increase in the export of Polish products to markets in third countries, particularly Ukraine, has been recorded over the last two years, said Deputy Minister of Development of Poland Jacek Tomczak. According to him, in 2023, Poland was one of the 11 EU countries that recorded an increase in its exports, while the EU average was negative (-2.5%).

“We have overtaken all the largest exporters in the EU. Even the war in Ukraine did not stop the growth of Polish exports. In 2022, it reached 55%, and in 2023, another 16%,” Tomczak said.

The official added that Poland could also boast of significant export growth to countries such as the US, Turkey, Mexico, India, the UAE, Kazakhstan, and Singapore. Exports increased by more than 30% last year.

At the same time, Ukrainian imports exceeded exports by more than $20B for three quarters. The value of Ukrainian exports increased by only 6%, to $28.9B.
