Denmark, with Norway’s support, will transfer thousands of artillery shells to Ukraine and agreed with the Netherlands to deliver 14 Leopard 2 tanks.
The country’s Ministry of Defense said the package includes grenades, projectile charges, and gun tubes.
“Ukrainians continue to feel a great and urgent need for ammunition to fight against Russia. Denmark is responding with several initiatives with other EU and NATO countries. Together with Norway, we can now send more than 10,000 artillery shells in a short time”, said the head of the Ministry of Defense, Troels Lund Poulsen.
In addition, Denmark, the Netherlands, and the German defense concern Rheinmetall AG concluded a contract to supply 14 Leopard 2 tanks to Ukraine. The German government also participated in the agreement, which has permitted the export of these weapons. The first tanks from this batch are expected to be delivered to Ukraine in January 2024, and the rest by the end of the next year.
