Denmark will additionally allocate about €420M to rebuild Ukraine and develop a green energy sector.
Ukraine and Denmark signed a memorandum that provides for cooperation with the private sector through the Ukraine Facility mechanism with a system of loans and guarantees within the framework of the Export Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO), which is part of the Danish-Ukrainian Fund aimed at reducing the risks of companies participating in the reconstruction.
Thus, the Danish government will direct new funding to the EIFO, facilitating new investment opportunities of at least DKK 300M (€40M). This will bring the total fund package to DKK 1.3B, or €170M.
Particular attention will be paid to the economy’s green transformation and the implementation of innovative solutions in the field of critical infrastructure. In particular, to support critical renewable energy infrastructure, Denmark will allocate additional financing to the Ukrainian EIFO mechanism in the amount of DKK 2.85B (€380M).
