Cargo shipments, a key indicator of economic activity, increased by 0.7% in the January-April period,

compared to the first four months of last year, reports the State Statistics Service. Road cargo was up 7%, to 62 million tons. Rail cargo was down 1.2%, to 95.5 million tons. River cargo was down 9% to 1.2 million tons.
