Car sales reached a 20-month record for buying new cars.

In August, Ukrainians purchased more than 5,800 new passenger cars, almost twice as many as in August last year, according to Ukrautoprom data. Compared to July, consumer activity increased by 9%.

In August, Toyota vehicles were in greatest demand, with 1,118 units registered. August sales of new Toyotas in Ukraine increased by 49% compared to last year. Volkswagen took second place with 611 cars sold. In third position is Renault with 501 cars (+143%). The fourth and fifth places were taken by BMW and Skoda, respectively. According to August’s results, the title of bestseller in the new passenger car market went to Renault Duster, with 473 vehicles sold in just one month.

It is noted that from January to August 2023, Ukrainians purchased and registered more than 38,100 new cars, which is 56% more than in the same period last year.
