Bulgaria provides Ukraine with an armored vehicle defense aid package.

The largest one-time package of military assistance from Bulgaria includes 100 units of armored vehicles from the Bulgarian police force’s arsenal, mainly armored personnel carriers. The Bulgarian authorities noted that this is Sofia’s first official decision to help Kyiv with heavy equipment, Bulgarian authorities said.

It is noted that this military equipment was purchased 40 years ago, but it was never used for its intended purpose. At the same time, it requires storage and maintenance costs. This decision regarding the armored vehicles was announced a week after the visit of the President of Ukraine to Bulgaria.

This is the first public military parcel from Bulgaria to Ukraine. Bulgaria hopes to receive replacement military capacity from the US after providing the armored vehicles.
