Britain may abandon its plans to send troops to Ukraine, while the US is ready to support a coalition of the willing.

Britain might change its previously discussed plans to deploy thousands of troops to Ukraine, as such an action is regarded as too risky if a potential peace agreement with Russia were to be disrupted. Instead, Britain and France are considering the option of sending military instructors to Ukraine, who will operate in the western part of the country far from the frontlines.

It is anticipated that Ukraine’s security will primarily be bolstered from the air and sea, with contributions from its partners including Turkey, which is expected to play a crucial role in the Black Sea.

Arms supply from Britain and the European Union will also enable Ukraine to respond in the event of any Russian violations of the agreement. London is striving to identify a “point of contact” that would allow for a peace agreement to be reached without compromising Ukraine’s essential positions.

Meanwhile, American officials have informally promised their European counterparts, who are contemplating sending troops to Ukraine as part of a coalition of the willing, intelligence and logistical support in the air, at sea, and on land.
