Britain has found a way to provide more long-range missiles to Ukraine.
British Foreign Minister David Cameron proposed that Germany exchange its Taurus missiles for British Storm Shadow missiles in order to provide Ukraine with long-range weapons.
“We are ready to consider all options to achieve the maximum effect for Ukraine,” he said.
The British minister believes that Germany could supply the Taurus to Britain, and the British government would provide Ukraine with additional Storm Shadow missiles in return.
“We are determined to work closely with our German partners on this and all other issues to help Ukraine,” Cameron said.
Cameron rejected fears that the supply of cruise missiles could lead to an escalation of the war in Ukraine.
In turn, Anton Hofreiter, a member of the German Bundestag from the Greens, supported the British proposal to exchange missiles. According to Hofreiter, “it would be better” if German Chancellor Olaf Scholz would stop blocking the supply of Taurus missiles to Ukraine.
“But until Ukraine receives more cruise missiles, such a ‘ring exchange’ is possible,” he added.
