Britain and the EU are in discussions to accelerate arms deliveries to Ukraine,

according to British Foreign Secretary David Lammy. He mentioned that he had talked about increasing military support for Ukraine prior to a potential full ceasefire in a meeting in London with the EU’s chief diplomat, Kaja Kallas. Lammy added that this issue was also addressed during the recent G7 foreign ministers’ meeting in Canada.
“We aim to position Ukraine militarily and economically in the strongest possible way. We desire peace, but we believe peace comes through strength, and that entails ensuring Ukraine can effectively defend itself against any potential aggression,” Lammy stated.
Even before details of the Putin-Trump conversation were officially disclosed, Lammy urged Russia to agree to an “unconditional ceasefire” and cautioned that the Kremlin should not be permitted to use any pause to rearm its military ahead of reaching a long-term peace agreement.
