US President Joe Biden on Tuesday was skeptical of Russia’s statement that it would de-escalate military action in the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv and Chernihiv, saying Washington would continue to supply Kyiv with protection. “We’ll see. I won’t predict anything until I see what Russia’s actions are,” he said when asked to comment on the talks in Istanbul between Ukraine and Russia. “We will find out what Russia is planning on doing, but in the meantime, we will continue to maintain strong sanctions, continue to provide Ukraine with the means to defend itself and continue to closely monitor what is happening,” Biden said.
