Banks have provided ₴3.6B in loans to the energy industry; Japan will help Ukraine build distributed power generation.
Since Ukraine’s energy generation capacity restoration programs began, banks have approved loan applications for ₴3.6B. Last week, 20 Ukrainian banks received applications for ₴1.8B under all available programs. The total amount of applications that businesses have submitted since the beginning of June is about ₴39.1B.
At the same time, representatives of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and representatives of the Ministry of Energy discussed Ukraine’s preparations for the coming heating season. Japan has already provided gas turbines, backup generators, and other equipment for distributed generation. Attention is also being paid to long-term cooperation plans, particularly with regard to technical solutions for the development of renewable energy generation.
JICA assures Ukraine that they will continue to provide the country with all necessary assistance to pass the autumn-winter period and introduce modern energy technologies.
