Bankers share their forecast for deposit rates through the end of the year.


By the end of the year, average rates on hryvnia deposits, depending on the term of the deposits, will remain at 14-14.5% per annum, predicts Globus Bank.
It is noted that the average return on deposits with a term of three to six months will not exceed 14.5% per annum, and the average return on deposits with placement from nine months to one year will be 14% per annum. At the same time, considering inflation, which decreased to 5.3% in annual terms, and accompanying bank commissions, the net profit on hryvnia deposits will be from 6% to 7%, almost 2.5 times higher than the yield on foreign currency deposits.
The structure of deposits is as follows: deposits of ₴50,000-100,000 account for 50%, deposits of ₴100,000-200,000 account for 20%, and about 15% are deposits up to ₴50,000.
According to NBU Council member Vasyl Furman, the trust of Ukrainians in the banking system is growing, and the volume of household deposits in hryvnias has increased by 30% since the beginning of the year, up to ₴250B.
