An IMF team arrived in Kyiv to discuss reforms and financing for this year.
The IMF team will participate in the inaugural meeting of the Steering Committee of the Fund for the Development of Potential of Ukraine, which the IMF administers. After these meetings, on February 17, the IMF mission led by Gavin Gray will begin discussions with Ukrainian authorities in Warsaw in the context of the third review of the EFF’s extended financing program, which was approved on March 31, 2023.
Ukraine has already received three tranches totaling more than $3.5B. Another tranche should arrive at the end of February based on the results of the third review and assessment of the fulfillment of Ukraine’s obligations. Three more tranches are planned for the current year: $2.22B in mid-June, then $1.11B in early September and December.
IMF representatives met with Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and Minister of Finance Serhiy Marchenko to discuss the implementation of reforms and financing for this year.
