American lawmakers have asked President Biden to provide Ukraine with long-range missiles, and Ukraine will manufacture its own with a range of 1,000 km.

As Politico writes, US lawmakers from both parties are pushing Biden to deliver ATACMS to Ukraine. In a letter to Biden, 10 Republican and Democratic lawmakers noted that the war in Ukraine has turned into a conflict of attrition. “We can and must help Ukraine to get out of this impasse”, lawmakers added.

They also call for transferring other modern weapons, including F-16 fighter jets and additional air defense assets such as the Patriot missile system. Legislators are also calling for quicker supplies of M1 Abrams tanks, which are due to arrive in Ukraine by the end of the year.

At the same time, Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov stated that Ukraine has good prospects for creating its own missiles with a range of more than 1,000 km. He notes that a missile program has been approved in Ukraine, and funds have already been allocated.
