American intelligence: Ukraine will hold Kursk, and the counteroffensive for the Russians will be a “hard battle.”
Ukrainian troops plan to hold the occupied territory in Kurks “for some time,” and the expected Russian counteroffensive will be a “tough fight” for the Russians, said CIA Deputy Director David Cohen during the Intel Summit 24 intelligence and national security summit in Washington.
According to Cohen, the Russian dictator will have to “deal with the resonance in his own society” due to the loss of Russian territory. However, a counteroffensive is inevitable, although it will be a tough fight for the Russians.
The US does not yet fully understand the role of the Kursk operation but expects that everything will become clear soon. Its “significance remains to be seen,” the CIA deputy director said. As a reminder, on August 6, Ukraine launched an operation into Russian territory in the Kursk region, where it captured 100 settlements and established a command post. Currently, Ukraine’s Armed Forces control 1,300 square kilometers of Russian land.
