Allies are working to provide Ukraine with armored vehicles and ammunition.
The Coalition of Armored Vehicles in Support of Ukraine was inaugurated in Warsaw. During the meeting, representatives from the participating countries developed a consolidated position on strengthening the mechanized component of Ukraine’s Armed Forces with certain samples of armored vehicles and organizing their repair system. The initiative was proposed by Poland and Germany and won the support of Britain, Sweden, and Italy.
Also, as Yonhap writes, experts have suggested that the US use South Korea’s stock of 105-mm ammunition to support Ukraine. It is noted that Korea has about 3.4 million 105-mm artillery shells but is converting most of its artillery to 155-mm caliber.
Also, Slovenia has joined the Czech initiative to purchase shells for Ukraine with the allocation of €1M, and Poland will double its contribution.
In the meantime, EU has provided German concern Rheinmetall with more than €130M to increase the production of artillery shells under the Ammunition Support Act. By 2027, Rheinmetall wants to be able to produce up to 1.1 million artillery shells per year.
