Aid from Ukraine’s partners has entered a zone of uncertainty.
Hungary proposed to divide the €50B EU aid package to Ukraine over four years. Last week, Hungary told the members of the Euro bloc that €25B will be enough for Ukraine at this time. Now, in the middle of the aid period, it is necessary to determine when Kyiv will receive the remaining amount.
The country also welcomed Ukraine’s removal of the OTP Bank from the list of international war sponsors but wants guarantees that it will not be returned there in the future. Hungary also expects four bank managers and the OTP Russian division to be removed from the list.
Meanwhile, The Guardian and VOA report that the removal of Republican Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House of Representatives could mean changes in aid to Ukraine, as some of the possible successors strongly support assistance to Ukrainians, and some strongly oppose it.
In his turn, John Kirby, the coordinator of the National Security Council in the White House, emphasized that Congress must act to guarantee the continuity of US support.
Meanwhile, Great Britain and NATO have warned that Western countries are running out of ammunition that could be provided to Ukraine.
