Agricultural trade between Ukraine and France reached $750M last year; planned cooperation in the farm sector will accelerate our country’s European integration.

For Ukraine and France, 2024 ended with good results in the mutual trade of agricultural products, said the Minister of Agricultural Policy of Ukraine, Vitaly Koval.

“In 2024, agricultural trade between Ukraine and France amounted to $750M. Ukraine exported corn, rapeseed, sunflower oil, and honey. In return, agricultural machinery, seeds, and plant protection products were purchased from France,” Koval noted.

He recalled that Ukraine has begun an active phase of negotiations with the European Commission on joining the EU, so France’s experience and support are essential. According to the minister, meetings between Ukrainian and French specialists at the agricultural department level would help speed up the process of implementing EU norms into Ukrainian legislation.

Annie Genevard, Minister of Agriculture of France, noted that France will soon send experts to Ukraine to help implement European standards in sanitary and phytosanitary norms and animal welfare.
